Provincial Government Announces Bill 1 – An Act to Repeal the Carbon Tax
The provincial government tabled Bill 1 - An Act to Repeal the Carbon Tax on May 22nd. If passed, Bill 1 would repeal the Climate Leadership Act effective on May 30, 2019 and end the rebates associated with the Climate Leadership Act. The Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation (CCIR) would still continue to apply to large emitters.
