Chamber Network Response to Provincial Budget
Our local chamber was watching this past week as the provincial government released Budget 2019. There is alignment within the budget with priorities that were outlined in our Vote Prosperity campaign launched in the months leading up to the provincial election. Notably, we saw a commitment in the budget to start on a path back to fiscal balance and a focus on red-tape reduction, both priorities of our chamber locally and provincially. We will be focusing on economic opportunities and encouraging diversity and business attraction initiatives locally while also ensuring working with community partners to ensure that our workforce has the skills and education needed to grow and support our region.
