The City is seeking community feedback to develop a master plan for Echo Dale Regional Park.

The City of Medicine Hat is working with a consultant to develop the concept plan, which will help guide operations and capital priorities for the park in the short, medium and long-term.

“Echo Dale has been referred to as a gem and an oasis for the City since it opened in 1986,” said Maureen Mudry, with Special Projects in Business and Asset Planning with the Parks and Recreation Department. “Echo Dale is a staycation destination and we want to see people using it for years to come.”

“Echo Dale is built for families and friends,” said James Will, General Manager of Parks and Recreation. “There are historical areas, and places to play. You can bring your dog or enjoy the lakes. There really is something for everyone.”

On Tuesday, February 25, the City will host a public drop-in session at the Family Leisure Centre from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Residents will be asked to complete a short survey as they read through working notes and draft vision statements for the park.

An online survey, also open to the general public, will launch on March 6 and will help collect data which will be used to build and develop the final concept plan.

“We want to know what residents want to see in Echo Dale as we begin planning for the next five, 10 and 15 years,” Mudry added.
