Five New Alberta Schools Earmarked for P3s

Five new Alberta schools have been earmarked for possible delivery using a public-private partnership (P3). The Alberta government is developing the business case to move forward with a P3 approach to deliver new schools approved in the 2019 Capital Plan.

The next step will be issuing a Request for Qualifications to industry in spring 2020. Up until completion of market sounding the minister reserves the right to change the composition of this P3 bundle. The chamber network had advocated for the P3 model to be used for infrastructure projects in our Vote Prosperity campaign and will monitor the progress of this model as it pertains to school construction.
